Donald "Joe" Joseph Waltz

Donald Joseph Waltz Sr., known as Joe, aged 60, passed away on April 15th, 2025. Born on February 24, 1965, in Indiana to John Herbert Waltz Sr. and Patricia Ann Waltz (Cripe), he was one of five children. Joe was a father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He worked for General Dynamics Nassco as a project scheduler. Because of his father’s tenure in the United States Navy, Joe carried a sense of pride working for the Naval Shipyards throughout his career. If you knew Joe, you know his favorite thing to do was watch the Dallas Cowboys. And if you really knew him then you know he was going to be the loudest in the room watching the game. Joe also enjoyed fishing, watching the Cincinnati Reds, spending time with his grandchildren, cooking good food, and having a fun time everywhere he went.

Joe is predeceased by his father, John Herbert Waltz Sr. Joe leaves behind two brothers, Richard Cropley and John Waltz (Lisa), two sisters, Patricia Vera (Scott) and Mary Caudle (Mike). He leaves behind three daughters, Amanda Cash (Brett), Amy Klucas, and Ashley Rutowski (Mike); two sons, BT Bateman and DJ Waltz (Bethany). Joe leaves behind many grandchildren, Christopher Tillie and Autumn Cash, and Andrew, Cameron, and Madison Burke, and Jacob Stephens and Gracie Jenkins, and Ruby and Barrett Waltz. Joe also leaves behind a lot of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and so much more, all whom he loved very much.

The family will receive friends at a public visitation for Joe on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 2551 North Armistead Ave, Hampton, Virginia 23666. A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 3:00 PM, at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home & Memorial Park, officiated by Reverend Dave Whitten. Joe will have a private placement at Hampton Memorial Gardens at a later date.
