Donna Raye Selby

Donna Raye Selby, 79, passed away August 20, 2021. She was a native of Virginia, born in Danville June 7, 1942. Donna lived in Hampton Roads all of her life and enjoyed nature and the outdoors, especially the beach. She retired from the Newport News Shipyard after 36 years of service, where she was the first female lead electrician.

Donna was a devoted Matriarch of the family. She was strong, nurturing, and kind; she was also fiercely loyal and protective. Donna was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was an absolute firecracker that loved to joke and laugh. She will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents Rossie and Geraldine Kidd; children, Deborah and Donald Hancock; sister Joyce and brother John.

Left to cherish her memory is children Rhonda and Delbert Hancock; grandchildren, Charity, Holly, Christina, Blake, Donald Jr.; great-grandchildren, Blake, Alijah, Baylee, Avarie, Caine, Ava, Raylan; sisters, Jane, Joanie and brother Jimmy.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday August 25, 2021 in the chapel mausoleum of Parklawn Memorial Park 2551 N. Armistead Ave Hampton, VA 23666.
