Dorothy Van Sant Anderson

Dorothy Van Sant Anderson, 93, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017. Dorothy was born in Trenton, New Jersey on June 25, 1923, the only child of William and Viola Van Sant. Dot and her husband Andy moved to Hampton in September, 1958.

Dot was a longtime member of Ivy Memorial Baptist Church. She also enjoyed her memberships in the Wythes Woman’s Club and the Mercury Lioness Club.

Dot was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Charles “Andy” Anderson. Survivors include sons, Charles R. Anderson, Jr. and wife, Pamela and Robert W. Anderson and wife, Amy; granddaughters, Sarah A. Quitaro and husband, Joshua and Emily A. Brown and husband, Wesley; great-grandsons, Brandon R. Quitaro and Colin J. Quitaro; great-granddaughter, Charlotte T. Brown; special cousin, Marcia Spitz; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

The family would like to express gratitude to Diane and Larry Gibboney for their loving care and compassion and hospice nurses, Angie and Chris, who continually provided wonderful care to Dot.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with service and interment to follow.
