Dorothy "Dee" Topping Flynn

She was born September 20, 1916 to Carlile B. and Alice 0. Topping of Hampton, VA. She and Jack married on February 7, 1942. They resided in Hampton until 1979 when they moved to York County. She graduated from Hampton High School and was a member of Saint Paul's Episcopal Church. She was also a member of the Hampton Woman's Club.

Dee loved being a homemaker and those who visited her home saw the results of her love of home. Flowers were her passion and her family and friends enjoyed the arrangements she created and shared.

In addition to her husband and parents, Dee was preceded in death by her sister, Eleanor T. Davis (Ed); her brothers Carlile (Buddy) F. Topping (Ann), George Ray Topping (Evelyn) and nephew Paul G. Gresham. She was a beloved aunt and friend to many.

She leaves behind eight nieces and nephews, Carlile B. Davis (Vicki), Frances T. Page (Phil), John D. Topping (Janice), Richard C. Topping (Elaine), Mary Elizabeth Klein (Henry), William (Bill) E. Topping, Carlette D. Trent (Lee) and Laniere G. Gresham, many great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews plus many treasured friends.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Monday, April 4, 2016 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Dee’s life will begin immediately following in the funeral home chapel. Interment in Parklawn Memorial Park.
