Here it is again! The anniversary of your loss my darling son. I miss you more than ever. You would be forty yrs. old this year; amazing to think of you at that age, and it just reminds me of how much precious time has passed since I lost you. I keep your light within my heart to give me strength and direction when I'm feeling so lost without you. I love you sweet boy.

I haven't been here in such a long time. I miss you beyond words my son. I never realized how much of my own life went with you on this terrible day 12 years ago! It seems my life since then has been a continuous and torturous search for you;  any trace left of you thru all these years, be in my heart, memory, or tangible remnants of your life. I have returned to my life for the most part because I must, but this day will always remain selfishly mine for grieving beautiful you. It is always dark even if it isn't. Dammit! You should still be here my dove. Your absence hurts me so...Mama will be comin soon.

You were very gentle soul Dylan. I know you in heaven.

It is finally past the Holidays and I can breathe again. I miss you so very much at that time of year Dylan. You are a painful hole in my heart because you are missing amidst all the festivities. It is so unfair to be without you darling boy. I seem to go numb at the thought of any real happiness. I do, however, remember the sweet days of Christmas' past with you and the gentle way you had with Christmas because you knew how much it meant to me to see you enjoying yourself. I remember the last Christmas I had with you was a white Christmas and we rode all the way home in the snow! It was beautiful, just you and I and the snow falling all around. It was so special...a gift from God. I love you forever and ever and ever and I feel you always near. I am lucky to have had such a wonderful son...

Hello again my angel. I have missed coming here for a while now. But it is late in the night and that is when I miss you the most. Your sweet smile and gentle laugh are especially clear in my heart tonight and I ache for you. Having you gone is like having you in a separate part of the world that I can't get to. It is a strange feeling. I need you so much for I am weary, and I know that you would rescue from this hard world if you could. You were a good son; the best and I am so proud to have been the mother of a such an extraordinary human being. I pray that your loving spirit stays with me constantly, for it is what keeps me going. Although I grieve for you so much still, I am not allowing myself to be sad all the time because I know you want me to have some happiness. I am living my life and pouring all the love I would have had for you here on earth to all the lovely sweet children that have come into the world since you've been gone. Somehow, I know it's what you want, and I can feel your smile and hear your laughter. Be with me always and come to take me to heaven when my time comes. Dylan. Damn bro. I miss you. I've stood silent on numerous occasions where I've wanted to speak out. Cynthia, my deepest condolences. I honestly didn't know how to react, to the news of my best friend growing up in life, passing.  Know that I've dealt with it in my line work. I know the best way is to "never forget."  In our life, we actually die twice. Once, when we are actually taken away. And a second time, when our name is never spoken again. So now I will begin to tell you who Dylan was. Dylan was the kindest, most respectful, gentless human being I've ever met. I've been around the world twice and back. And I've never met someone like him.  I never forget him, because all my fondest memories as a kid were with him. He taught me how to play chess. And we played every single day. We played football, every single day. We were unstoppable. You could ask anyone that grew up in merry oaks circa 1995-1997. We were unstoppable. We would play against kids 4 years older than us. And they didn't have a chance.  Dylan. You will always be in my heart. I will never forget you. When best friend gets brought up in conversation. You are the first in my thoughts. It's hard for me to understand why you. Why one of the nicest persons I've ever met. Why?!?!  I will never understand. It just never makes sense to me. I will never forget the day I heard the news of my best friend. I will always remember the day. I was living j Japan. Wondering where my friend is. I asked my parents. "Have you seen Dylan??" We used to play xbox online. And it was always a pleasure just knowing we shared more time together. Just hearing his laugh and jokes. I truly miss it. Cynthia. I'm sorry I've never reached out to you. I honestly wanted to, this whole time. I just didn't know how. I hope you read this. Knowing how much your son meant to me. I've said it once I'll say it twice. Hands down,  the sweetest, honest, and the most genuine human being I've ever men. Dylan. I think about you all the time. All the movie quotes. All the great times we've had. Rest I. Peace brotha. I'll never forget you!

My darling son, it has been a while since I have been here, but I am always drawn here by my great love and longing for you. I love you so and time only makes the yearning for you more intense. I find it amazing how hard life is without you. It's awful how life has changed for me since you've been gone. I want to enjoy life because I know that's what you would want, but how can I when you were my reason for living?! Oh, how I wish over and over for a chance to do things differently when you died. I have so many regrets. I love you forever, rest in the arms of God my angel boy.

How did I lose you my darling heart. I keep asking myself that over and over again. I still startle at the reality of it even now over 4 years after your death. The loss of you is too much to bear sometimes, and I am weary from the crushing sorrow. I keep saying to myself that God in his wisdom had a reason for taking you from me, but I can't use that reason with my heart; it cries out for you day after day my love...I love youooo sooooo! Sob, sob, sob. I will never let go of you.

My son, how I miss your face and your love.  This earth is such a weary place without you in it.  It has been 3 1/2 years now that you've been gone and the sorrow still finds me; just less frequently now.  But when the memories of how I lost you flood into my soul, the force of it's reality knocks the very breath from me.  You loved me; you cared for me; you worried about me, and you were the one person on earth that was there when I needed someone.  I had your heart and you had mine; but you will always be in mine.  Sometimes when I am really weary, I feel you right next to me; just beyond the thin veil.  You put your arm around me and lean your head on my shoulder and then you say "Don't cry ma, I am here with you and I know your sad, but don't be because I am loved and happy here.  I wait for you along with the rest, please try to enjoy some of life." I really feel that you are right there.  I miss you like the earth misses the rain and the stars would miss the sky.  Kisses til next time darling child of mine.

I light this candle for our wonderful Dylan who left this world a wonderful memory of his beautiful soul. He left us all with a little piece of what is truley wonderful about life and what we can expect when we all go home, a warm and wonderful reunion with him and all who we love that went before us. I knew that I would not see your beautiful face again in my mortal life, and that I would always be longing for you son. I cannot stay here too long for it tears at my fragile heart. My darlin, It is a few days past your 30th birthday.  Normally a man's 30th year is a great milestone in his life.  A chance to look back on his accomplishments, but your sweet life was cut short of it and for me it is only a longing for what could have and what should have been.  I know that you would have done so much more with your life honey.  I just keep remembering your loving voice and all of the things that made you such a special person.  The important thing is that you lived, and in that time you were a better man than so many.  You were the best parts of your father and me Dylan.  We miss you so much birthday boy...

Merry Christmas, Dylan.  I envy you being able to celebrate the Birthday of the Christ Child in Heaven with all the Cherubim, Angels and Saints.  Someday I will be there...we will all be there, reunited  with you and all our Loved Ones in Heaven.

Christmas is almost here and I look at it the same way I always do, now that you are gone my love.  I find comfort in knowing that it represents the birth of our dear Saviour and there is peace in that, but there is no refuge from the sorrow of this time of year without you Dylan. Dylan...I love your name, and I say it, write it, or look for it every chance I get.  For me, you were a gentle place in a weary world; you made life easier just by being my son to love, care for, and to have as a friend. How shall my life be without you in it? I keep getting told that there are blessings for me even in the midst of this tragedy, but I don't see many. I never knew how much someone could be missed. This Christmas I wish God would give me the gift of a sign from you; any kind of sign that would ease my pain. I will be looking for it. I love you son, Merry CHristmas in heaven...oxoxoxoxo

It has become such a challenge to find words that go deep enough to express the abject misery that life has become without you honey.  Mama doesn't know what to do without you.  What does one do when the stars go out!?  I try to find you in the wind and the beauty of the stars.  I look for you in the loveliness of the flowers on earth, and the creatures of the sky but to hold you and hear your voice, I cannot.
I am bound by this world and suffer your great loss every day.  Oh Dylan! Please come to me in a dream so your presence can warm my broken heart; if only for a brief moment.  I can't believe I am without you, why...

It still is as it was 2 years ago...the simple words I have thought of to console the loss of your precious son seem inadequate. The only thing I can offer you for comfort is my friendship, a shoulder to cry on, a listening ear and someone who is "there" for you even though I am 800 miles away. Well sweetheart it is going on 5 months now since you went to heaven. I still can't believe you are gone.  You are still so present in my life; everywhere I go I see traces of your beautiful existence.  I hear your voice and I call out to you so that I can hear the special name I gave you ring in the air once more.  I want to remember you always; the curve of your face, your smile, your laughter, the shine of your dark hair...is is so hard, the thought of living without you sunny bunny.  God is helping me to bear, but I am so alone without you my love. Please accompany the angels when they come for me my darling for I long to see your sweet face again.  Mama will always love you.

Well, it has been only a few weeks now that you have left my life my precious son, and the time is so slow to pass. I wait and pray for the pain to ease, but it does not. Your memory brings joy and sorrow all at once...such a terrible irony in grief my love. I feel as if I am wandering aimlessly through life at times, just looking for any kind of respite from the desperation of missing you. But when I reach the point where I swear that I can't go on, I hear your voice leading me to a gentle place inside my heart where you live and always will.
