Edward ‘EJ’ Downing, III, 21, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2017. He was born in and was a lifelong resident of Hampton. Edward was a graduate of Kecoughtan High School, and enjoyed family trips, fishing, video games, and making others laugh.
Edward was preceded in rest by his father, Edward “Eddie” Downing, II. He is survived by his mother, Tanya (Jasper) Downing-Austin and her husband, Michael; sisters, Brittany, Michelle, and Kyileah; and his maternal and paternal grandmothers, Betty Toomey and Barbara Normandeau. He is also survived by his second mom, Tammy Meyer; cousin and friend, Ben; friend, John; and a host of other family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held later in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating to the Go Fund Me campaign set up to assist the family at this time. The campaign can be found through Edward’s Facebook page.
