Elizabeth Fleming

Elizabeth (Libby) Ann Fleming died peacefully in her sleep the morning of April 30, 2022, after a long battle of cancer. Libby was born February 18, 1958 to the late Edna Trinity Brewer Beitler and the late Fred Manard Fleming.

Born and raised in Highpoint, North Carolina and having lived in New Port News, Virginia, Libby had many family members and friends. She greatly enjoyed her job at Riverside Health Systems for almost thirty years and the relationships it provided her.

Libby was a loving sister, aunt, daughter, and honorary grandmother to Joshua and Sarah Resendiz.

Libby is survived by her siblings, Marsha Fleming Creel of Aynor, South Carolina, and Freddie Joduan Fleming (Dolores Gomez-Rey) of Hampton, Virginia, and her dearest friend, Juan Martínez. Also surviving Ms. Fleming are her nieces and nephew Kandi Fleming, Jenny Bowen, Emily Hike, Jon Michael Fleming, Brigette Fleming Lamon, and Shema Holmes.

Libby loved an adventure and looked forward to traveling and sightseeing in her future. A yearly highlight for her was the gathering of her many cousins, their children and our aunt and uncle at the Family Reunion. She cherished the excitement of laughter, hugs, even tears and trying new and delicious foods. As she stepped into Glory, for that final reunion, she was greeted by our mama and sister as well as family members and friends who had gone on before us. Go rest high Libby, you will be loved and missed forever.
