Evelyn is an angel and now she is in heaven wearing her wings. She is looking down from heaven watching over her family. Evelyn was a wonderful lady and she will truly be missed.  We will always love you mom.

 I will miss Evelyn.  She was such a force in shaping the Hampton Arts Commission. She always had a smile on her face, even through her problems. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.

Dear Evelyn is one of those remarkable souls who deeply touched the lives of everyone with whom she came into contact. Through trials and adversity, through thick and thin, Evelyn was and remains a tower of strength. Her heart was full of a genuine and pure love which affected us all. There was no place in her heart for any anger, jealousy, hatred or prejudice. No, Evelyn was the epitome of courage and strength, of love and light and of generosity and kindness. She was also the epitome of a secure faith. She was and will always remain a solid and lasting example for each and every one of us - an example of humility and compassion and indeed of joy. Evelyn came into my life more than 20 years ago as a fill-in "old fashioned" secretary. But there was nothing old fashioned about Evelyn. I will always cherish and treasure the love she showed for me and all my staff as well as the immense love she nurtured for her family - her life.

When my parents moved to Florida Mrs Mcdonald opened her house to me as I tried to get settle in being on my own.... Will truly be missed

I will miss seeing Evelyn at Charles Taylor on Tuesday afternoons when I'm there painting. She was a dear member of the Hampton Arts family.

Reflecting on interactions with Evelyn make me smile.  I will remember her as a caring person devoted to her family, and working to promote the best for Diversions and The American Theatre.  She will be missed - my condolences to your family.

Evelyn was a truly wonderful woman. It was my privilege to work with her at Hampton Arts. She taught me a great deal and helped me to become a more professional woman. She was the heart of our organization and she brought us all joy with her smiles and stories. Evelyn was also one of the most generous people I have ever met- she would do anything to help a friend. I am proud to have worked with her and honored to have known her as both a co-worker and a friend. I will truly miss her. I wish to extend my deepest  sympathies to her family.

Always a gracious lady, with a charming smile and personality, who could have been a close friend, had the distances and opportunities not been a detractor. Although I may have not known Mrs. McDonald, I know her daughter and by knowing her I know she was raised by a wonderful strong woman. I pray that  she and the rest of   the family can get through this tragedy. With the grace of God they  have the strength to pull through  and see Mrs. McDonald is now  home and has no worries. Evelyn was an Angel that God just wanted back home. She was so much fun and had a great shoulder for me to lean on. She use to call me her BFF and I would tell her she was my BBFF because truly she was the Best Best friend I will forever have. I will miss her so much but thank God for the over 10 years that I was blessed with her friendship. Actually she was more than a friend she was family. Every where I go from my home, Church and traveling through Hampton, I will smile as I remember her because her memory will live on forever.

So sorry to hear this. Evelyn was an anchor that held Hampton Arts steady through many storms.

Evelyn always had a smile and a cheerful word; she was a pleasure to work with and a delight to be with. We will miss her greatly.

Evelyn was friends with my oldest sister. They went to school together in Appomattox. She spent lots of time at our house when I was a kid. She was a sweet lady. Saw her a couple years ago at the RR Festival in Appomattox. So sad that we never got to go to lunch like we had planned. Preayers for the family.

Evelyn was so much fun, we will all miss her.

Evelyn was a classmate in Appomattox - saw her at our 40th class reunion a few years ago - always loved her laugh and she was always smiling - I am so sorry for your loss.
