The angels took Floyd Gamby to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 25, 2015. He was a native of Ohio and a resident of Hampton for 49 years. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Menchville Baptist Church. He loved his church and his family.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, sister Betty, and daughter Brenda.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Joan Gamby; sons, Glen and fiance Sue, George Jr., Ricky and wife Debbie, and Timmy; daughters, Barbara, Cindy, and Juanita and husband Lynn; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard and wife Carolyn and Ed and wife Emi; and sister, Rosie and husband Lyle. Floyd will be missed and was loved by all.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, August 28 at 12:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park
