Gary Wayne Hepler Sr.

He was born in Covington, Va but was a resident of Hampton for the past 67 years. Gary worked as a Diesel Mechanic Supervisor for PENTRAN for over 30 years and retired there in 1997.

He is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Bern Hepler Sr.; mother, Dorothy Virginia (née Pendleton) Hepler; and sister, Patricia Cannon. Gary is survived by his son, Gary W. Hepler Jr. (Amanda); daughter, Valerie Levy (Anthony); brothers, Clarence "Butch" Hepler Jr. and Ron Hepler; sister, Rhonda Humphrey; grandchildren, Krystal Phillips (Brian), Zack Levy (Alicia Rich); and Gary "Bubba" Hepler III; great-grandchildren, Brodee Phillips, Cash Phillips, Savannah Levy, and Tylynn Levy; and former spouse and friend, Marcia (née Letchworth) Hepler.

Gary was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend to many. He was always willing to help and loved to be with his family.

A Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. at Peninsula Memorial Park, 12750 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, Va 23606. After the funeral, there will be a gathering at his granddaughter's residence in Hampton to celebrate his life.
