Glenn Mark Upthegrove

Glenn Mark Upthegrove, beloved husband of Ereen Upthegrove and father of Shannon Upthegrove and Stephan Upthegrove passed away unexpectedly on December 26, 2024 at the age of 64. Mark was born in Lima, Ohio on January 11, 1960 to Glenna Marie Upthegrove.

Mark dedicated 20 years serving his country in the United States Army, retiring in 1997 as a Master Sergeant. Mark earned a Master's of Business Administration degree from Saint Leo University in 2007. Following his retirement from the Army, he worked as a computer technician for Gateway Computers in Newport News. Mark was overjoyed to return to the civil service when he started working for the Navy. At the time of his death, he was a branch chief at AMIC for the Air Force. Even on days off Mark was dedicated to his work. Mark loved going for hikes and discovering nature. He possessed extensive knowledge of world history. He adored animals. Mark was well-known for his affection and dedication to his pets.

He is survived by his devoted wife Ereen; his sons Shannon (Lisa) and Stephan;his Uncle Dave Upthegrove (Carolyn), loving nephews and nieces Eric (Dea), Jason, Rae Jean (Bobby), Reese (Jessica), Gina, Rissa, and Rochelle. He is also survived by brothers Eric, Lamar and Dana and many grand nieces and nephews.

Mark was preceded in death by his infant son Joshua Mark Upthegrove, parents Glenna Marie Upthegrove and Benny Houston, his Uncle Melvin, Sisters Sylvia, Barbara and Rita, and nephews Richie and Dathan.

A visitation will be held on Saturday January 11, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Parklawn Wood Funeral Home, located at 2551 N. Armistead Ave, Hampton VA 23666, followed immediately by a service at 11:00 AM.

An internment will take place on January 16th at Dayton National Cemetery at 11:00 AM located at 4400 W Third St, Dayton OH 45428.
