Harold Everett Mayberry Sr.

Harold E. Mayberry, Sr., 87, passed away at home on Friday, June 10, 2011. Mr. Mayberry was born in Illinois on November 6, 1923, and was a long-time resident of Hampton. He served honorably in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII and was a recipient of the Bronze Star.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Frances A. Mayberry; two sons, Harold E. Mayberry, Jr. and wife Martha, and Jack Dawson Mayberry and wife Sharon; two daughters, Barbara Ann Denney and husband Clayton, and Gloria Louise Brooks; grandchildren, Carl Denney and wife Pam, Cindy Welch and husband John, Tonya Mayberry and partner Christopher Rivers, Benjamin Mayberry and wife Amy, Brian Mayberry and wife Kara, Harry and John Jacobus, Billy Boughey and wife Jennifer, Michelle Kanady and husband Matthew, Julie Fontenot and husband Robbie, and Jack Mayberry, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Holly Barton and husband Reed, Amanda Cox and husband David, Taylor, Zackary, John, Bryson and Braydon Welch, Joshua, Katheryn and Alayna Mayberry, Edward and Brian Mayberry, Jr., John Jacobos, Jr., "Little Baby Boughey To Be", Kacie and Matthew Kanady, Jr., and Luke Fontenot; and great-great-grandchildren, Mia Barton and Clayton Cox.

A celebration of Harold's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 13, at the Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park with U.S. Army military honors.
