

Jacob Dillard Moose, Jr. died Tuesday, April 11th at his home in Hampton, VA following a brief battle with cancer. He recently moved to Hampton due to health issues and was diagnosed with cancer in January. He was predeceased by his father, Jacob Sr.; mother, Naomi; and sister, Sue.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and served 28 years of Civil Service with U.S. Department of Commerce. He and his wife and his business partner started Willowind Nursery which was very successful until it closed. He was active in his community before he retired. He was a member of the Warrenton and New Baltimore Lions Club. He was a soccer coach for his son’s team, and served other positions in the Soccer Club. He was known for helping a lot of "wayward" children in their times of need.
He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Anna Frances Moose; his children and their spouses, Jennifer and Al, Geoff and Jacki, Greg, and Sharmaine and Danny; his grandchildren, Jack, Jade, Michael, Ashlee, Hillary, Haley, Holly, Taylor, and Tyler; his only great-grandchild, Catalaya; his brothers and sisters, Brenda, Eddie, Kelly, Pat, and Johnny; and his nieces and nephews, Pam, Terri, Scott, Stephen, Eddie Jr., Joel, Kathy, and Michelle.
Family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 20th, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home at 2551 N. Armistead Avenue, Hampton, VA 23666. Attire is CASUAL per his wishes.
