So sorry to hear about your loss. You know that God and Jesus are in the best position to comfort us when we lose a loved one in death.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Buckingham when he adopted Bindi from Animal Aid Society.  Bindi is a German Shepard who had been terribly neglected.  She was skinny, her fur was patchy at best, and she loved everyone.  Mr. Buckingham came to the shelter faithfully, every day,  to visit Bindi during the adoption process.  He brought her to see us a couple of months after adopting her and she looked beautiful, just as he had promised she would. Later he brought a before and after picture of Bindi, which we have displayed at the shelter.   Thank you, Mr. Buckingham, for giving Bindi a second chance and a loving home.  Rest well.

My thoughts and prayers are with Jim's family.  My memories of Jim include a smile that was ever present on his face while he volunteered at the VLM, sharing the wonders of the universe with visitors or life stories and experiences with staff and volunteers.  Wish I had known him longer and better.  It comforts me to think that he is giddily looking for a ringside seat in his beloved universe where he can keep an eye on his family and friends plus watch the upcoming total solar eclipse.  Keep smiling, keep shining, star man!

Jim was a wonderful man, a dear friend, a dedicated volunteer, and an amazing font of wisdom and wit.  It was a genuine pleasure to watch him interact with our guests at the Abbitt Observatory, and I always enjoyed getting to chat with him on the occasions I was able to join him there.  He will be sorely missed by all of us here at the Virginia Living Museum.  I was blessed to know him for the past 20 years.

We were so sorry to learn of Jim's passing.  The neighbors will be here for the family.

Sorry to hear the news of Jim.  I worked at the shipyard with him.  He never had a bad word about anyone and always a pleasure to work with.  Even though we were only acquaintances, it was my good fortune to know him.  I know he will be missed by all who knew him. Prayers are being offered for him and his family.

Marilyn and family, please accept my heartfelt sympathy on Jim's death.   He was such a remarkable man, so willing to give of himself to help others.  He enjoyed sharing his love of astronomy with visitors to the Virginia Living Museum and always came in with a smile on his face and eagerness in his approach to beginning work.  It was my pleasure to work with Jim for so many years and he was a great friend.  I have so many wonderful memories of our time together and I so sorry to hear that he's gone.  I am also sorry that I'm unable to attend his memorial.  We are out of town, spending the 4th of July holiday with our son.  Please know that I will be there in spirit and pray that you are surrounded by God's love at this sad time.  Gloria Lombardi

I am so grateful that Uncle Jim and Aunt Marilyn were able to come and spend several days with us when my mom died four years ago. What a blessing it was to get to know them a bit better. My deepest sympathies to his family. I know he will be greatly missed in their lives. Such a kind, gentle man.
