James Larry Hardy began his eternal journey to Heaven on August 28, 2025. Born in 1943, to Robert and Lucille Hardy in Georgia, he lived there until the age of 18, when he joined the United States Air Force. During his time in the United States Air Force, he served two tours in Vietnam, and was stationed in places such as Japan, Germany, and France. Serving his Country was his passion, and he did it with integrity, service, excellence, dignity, respect, and honor.
Throughout his life, he was a simple man and wanted nothing from no one, but would give you the shirt off his back. You would not meet a kinder individual or somebody who loved God, his family, or the United States flag more than him.
Better known to those around him as Jim, he is survived by his wife, Ethel, brother John (Janie), sister Lois, many nieces and nephews. Also, his children, Deborah Logan (Curtis Logan), David Dunford, Marsha Gualandri. Furthermore, he is survived by his grandchildren, who affectionately knew him as Paw Paw, Jamie Berry (David Berry), Morgan Anderson (Dustin Anderson), Shelby Dunford, and Dante Gualandri. He is extremely fortunate enough to be survived by his great grandchildren, Kaylee Berry and Gunner Anderson as well.
Although our hearts are broken, we take delight knowing that he is reunited in heaven with those that have gone before him. He is preceded in death by his Father Robert, Mother Lucille, Mother in Law Carrie Peak, Brother-In-Law Carlton, and first wife Anita.
While this is the end of our journey on Earth together, we take delight in knowing that one day, we will all be reunited in heaven. We can't wait to be greeted by that signature smile, with a Budweiser cigarette in hand, and a big salute.
A special thank you to the medical staff at Riverside Hospital and the Riverside Hospice Team.
