Jean Claudette Rollins

Jean was a devoted Christian and gave her life to Jesus Christ our Savior and to her family that she so dearly loved and cared for over the past 79 years of her life. Jean was born in Big Stone Gap, VA on March 12, 1935.

Jean was one of 14 children of Joe Hall and Sara Fritz Hall from Big Stone Gap. Jean and her loving husband, Esum Glenn Rollins, who preceded her in death, moved to Newport News over 50 years ago to raise their family. Jean is survived by her daughters, Cathy Gould and husband Randy of Pinehurst, NC; Jo Ella Pettit and husband Rob of Holly Springs, NC; and son, Glenn Alan Rollins and wife Liz of Newport News, VA. Jean is also survived by her eight beautiful grandchildren, Christopher, Amanda (Marshall Nichols), Angela, Kelly, Nathaniel, Heather, Courtney, and Kristen.

Jean will be laid to rest next to her devoted husband on Saturday, October 25, 2014. There will be a visitation with the family from 1:30 to 2:00 pm at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home in Hampton. A Celebration of Jean's life will be held at 2:00 pm at the Funeral Home Chapel and graveside service to immediately follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank the wonderful hospice nursing staff, Carol and Shana, who took such great care of her alongside Jean's daughters. The family requests that if memorials are desired, that they be sent to First Health Hospice and Palliative, 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374.
