Jimmie L. Barrow, 79, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2015 at his residence. He was a native of North Carolina and a resident of Newport News for 60 plus years. He retired from Local 540 Plumbers in 1998 after 25 years of service.
Jimmie was preceded in rest by his parents; his son, Tommy; his sister and his 2 brothers.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Eleanor Sue Barrow; 2 sons, Michael Barrow and wife Virginia and Tony Barrow; 1 daughter, Sharon Bedsaul and husband Bobby; 6 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; brothers, Laverne Barrow and Tommy Barrow; sister, Hilda Shelley.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 20, 2015 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 21, 2015, 2:00 pm at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home Chapel; Interment will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park.
