John Edwin Wall

John better know as John E. boy or Pawpaw was born in Greensboro, North Carolina on November 29th, 1938 to father Howard and Virginia Wall. He started the Apprentice School and Newport News Shipyard in 1960 and served there for over sixty years. He worked in department M53 as an Inspector and was quoted saying "Always act with integrity in everything you do. Your word should be your bond. Integrity is the one thing you have that no one other than you can control. Find someone who needs a helping hand and extend it. We all need some help at sometime in our careers and it's easier to ask for help when you know someone who is there for you. I am very proud and honored to be a shipbuilder." He met Patricia A. Bruce in Greensboro and proceeded to court long distance until marrying in 1961. They settled to Hampton, Virginia and created a wonderful family.

John was preceded in death by his parents Howard G. Wall and Virginia B. Wall He is survived by his Wife Patricia B. Wall; Sister-Girl Rachel Wall; Daughters Sherry Farthing, Sandra Boger, Susan Wade, and Bonus-Daughter Dawn Sheppard; Son-in-Law Calvin H. Farthing JR and Bonus Son-in-Law Gary Sheppard; Grandchildren Dave Boger, John Boger, Kaeleigh Farthing, Rachel Farthing,and Angel Wade; Bonus Grandchildren Michelle Detrick, and Ethan Jouhet, and Bonus Great-Grandson Rowan Detrick.

A visitation for John is planned for Monday, March 24, 2025, at 1pm and service will start at 2pm at the Park Lawn Funeral Home on 2551 North Armistead Avenue, Hampton, VA 23666: All are invited. The family asks everyone to happily remember the life and legacy John leaves on earth.
