Joshua Tatlock

Joshua James Tatlock, age 11, passed away on Thursday April 22, 2022, at home in Hampton, Virginia surrounded by his mom, dad and siblings. Joshua was born October 19, 2010. Joshua was a medically fragile child who suffered from cerebral palsy, seizure disorder, and was blind from birth due to prematurity, Joshua was adopted in Lafayette, Louisiana by Jonathan and Janet Tatlock joining a very large, loving family. Joshua enjoyed listening to music. His favorite songs were “Joshua fought the battle of Jericho” and bible songs. Joshua was a big fan of superheroes. His favorite superhero is Spiderman. He enjoyed outings with his family going to festivals, carnivals and Mardi Gras. Joshua was loved by everyone and touched many lives.

Joshua is preceded in death by his brother Meyer Mark Tatlock of Louisiana, Grandfather Francis Toney of Hampton, VA, and Uncle Billy Joe Toney of North Carolina.

He is survived by his parents Jonathan Mark Tatlock and Janet Adele Tatlock of Hampton, VA, his Grandparents James and Margaret Tatlock, of Hampton, VA, brothers Aiden Jonathan and Kylen Francis Tatlock, both of Hampton, Matthew Hamay of Gloucester, VA and Joseph Ledford of Newport News VA. Sisters Ma’Leah Mae Tatlock of Hampton, VA, Christina Hobgood of Newport News, VA, Amanda Buquor of Gloucester, VA and Chanelle Sawyer of New Mexico, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by all.

The Tatlock family would like to thank Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Lafayette, Louisiana, Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana and Children’s Hospital of the Kings Daughters in Norfolk, Virginia. A very special thank you goes to Dr. Ami Mehta and staff, all the caring folks at Edmarc Hospice, Hampton Division of Fire and Rescue for your professionalism. In addition, Jon and Janet would like to thank his private duty nurses Geena and Solomon from Maxim Healthcare. They have been here for Joshua and us since we moved to Hampton, Virginia.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday May 14, 2022, at the Parklawn Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Personal condolences can be sent to the Tatlock family through Parklawn Wood Funeral Home.
