Leonard Robert Stevens

Leonard Robert Stevens, 84, of Hampton, Virginia, passed away on January 23, 2020. His is preceded in rest by his parents, Leroy and Ida Stevens; brother, Raymond Stevens; and nephew, Gary Stevens. Leonard is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mattie Stevens; son, Kenneth Stevens; daughter, Leonetta Jules (Maasai); grandchildren, Chamelle Ashley, Kennetta Stevens, Kamisha Stevens, TyJane Stevens, Quativia Stevens, NaKya Stevens, Taneja Jules, and Precious Jules; great-grandchildren, Zamarii Stevens, Kasch Stevens, Samiya Ashley, Simone Ashley, Chamelle Ashley II, and Emeri LeShaun Butler-Morris; nephew, Michael Stevens; nieces, Patricia Blizzard, Paulette Rogers, and Sonya Stevens; and many other family and friends who will miss him dearly. Leonard was born in the Queens borough of New York City and was a resident of Hampton, Va for over 40 years. He was a proud veteran of the Air Force where he retired as a Staff Sargent. Leonard was also an Engineer Technician for NASA, where he retired after 20 years of service in 1996. The family will receive friends at 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Ave., Hampton, Va 23666, where a Celebration of Life with full military honors will follow at 6 p.m. On Saturday, February 8, at 1 p.m. there will be a graveside service at Hampton Memorial Gardens, 155 Butler Farm Rd, Hampton, Va 23666.
