

On March 23, 2024, our beloved father, Lloyd G. Williamson, went to be with The Lord. He passed peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family. We were truly blessed to have him. It is with great sorrow we have to say goodbye to our Dad. Our lives were filled with his love, warmth, and unwavering strength. Through his love and devotion to his family, he instilled in us values of compassion, kindness, resilience and a great attitude. He was dearly loved by everyone who knew him, he was truly the most wonderful man we’d ever known.
He left behind two children, Cynthia Holt and David Williamson; six grandchildren, Matthew Hayes, Keith Hayes, Amanda Wackler, Jason Hayes, Justin Hayes, and Brandon Williamson; as well as sixteen beautiful great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Lloyd served the United States with distinction, having supported the Nation's efforts in Germany following World War II. He earned the National Defense Service Medal and Occupation Medal before being honorably discharged in 1953. He was a United States Army Veteran, Master Ship Builder for 37 years with the Newport News Shipyard, and a member of West Hampton Baptist Church for 20 years. Out of all of his jobs and positions, he held his job as a father and grandfather with the utmost importance. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
A public visitation for Lloyd will be held Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 2551 North Armistead Ave, Hampton, Virginia 23666. A public visitation will occur Friday, March 29, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A celebration of life will occur Friday, March 29, 2024 at 2:00 PM. An interment will occur Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Hampton Memorial Gardens, 155 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, Virginia 23666.
