Deena, and Family, I'm so sorry and sad for your loss. Lonnie and I were classmates and friends in NNHS and worked together in the NNSB&DD,Co in the X42/062 PIPE RADIOGRAPHY DEPT. We had a good time in both places. Lonnie was a hard worker and had great sense of humor. Once you knew him you never would forget him.

Dear Deena & Family,

I just looked at all those wonderful pictures of Cootie and all of you that I didn't take time to view in the funeral home.  I'm glad I had the chance to see them leisurely today with Ron.  They are just precious!  His love of family and having fun are so well reflected!  There's just pure joy in his eyes and smile, especially when he's with his children, grands, and great-grands.

I thought the remembrance service was beautifully presented.  Marty did a great job of capturing his personality and spirit, as well as did the words spoken by others.  He definitely made a great impact on family and friends throughout his life and left a legacy of love and service to others we should all hope to follow.  He always seemed to be willing to help.  I didn't know about his stock answer of "Whatever," but I'm sure lots of folks appreciated hearing it because they knew he was ready to do what needed doing.

Deena, relish your precious memories and continue to make new ones with your loving family.  Thank you for inviting us all into your home and sharing fellowship and food.  You have many on whom you can call.  Please keep us on your list when you need help with anything or want to spend some time together.  We know there is much to do right now.  Please take care of yourself and know you're in our thoughts and prayers and of many others too.

Deena and Family:  I wish to express my condolences to your family for the loss of Lonnie.  He was truly a loving and caring man to all who knew him.  Without Lonnie I probably would not have had a rewarding career in the insurance industry but he had faith in me and hired me when his boss had doubts about me.  For this I am grateful.  Lonnie's family meant everything to him.  He always talked about his loving wife and children in a way that showed he loved them dearly. My prayers are with you in this time of sorrow.

Sorry to hear of Lonnie passing. Him and I road the bus and later carpooled to the shipyard. He enjoyed talking about his family vacations to Nags Head. He will be missed.

I was very sorry to hear of Cootie's passing. I have some fond memories of Cootie from growing up in east end. He will be sorely missed, but we know he is in a better place.

I will miss the small things like fishing, sitting on the porch and cooking at the reunions. Truly a father and friend to me.

 My deepest sympathy and sorrow to the Scoggins family. I will always remember Lonnie from the shipyard, He would come by my office in the power house Sunday morning the week I was on day shift at 7am to make his safety check before going out to make sure the dry docks weren't flooded and all was ok in x36 dept. At 11am he would come by and safety check out. We would sit and talk for awhile. he always had a smile on his face and talk kindly about all. I will always remember you. May you rest in peace my friend.

My heart goes out to the Scoggins family. Cootie was a big part of my younger years growing up on Valirey Drive. The last time I spoke to Cootie was in front of my house and we talked FISHING. You will be missed.

So sad to see a friend and classmate leave our world for a better life. You left many friends and loved ones with fond and tender memories of your time with us.
