Margie was born on April 27th, 1947 in Newport News, Virginia to Frederick and Gloria Springman. She was a member of the Hampton High School class of 1965 before earning a bachelor’s degree at the University of Maryland.
Margie lived her life in Hampton Roads to the fullest. She frequently attended local sports games, concerts, shows, and anything else that piqued her interest. One of her favorite hobbies, however, was creative writing. She used her intelligence and resourcefulness to maintain several jobs, often simultaneously, to support her family. She cherished her children so much that she kept their artwork, cards, and keepsakes of sentimental value lovingly stored away. Margie always saw the best in people and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Her smile, sense of humor, and knack for finding the best deal on anything you can possibly think of will be terribly missed.
Margie is survived by her 4 children: Michael, Mark, Matthew, and Melissa, her sisters Patricia and Theresa, and her many beloved nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. A small ceremony, attended by family and close friends, was held on Saturday, February 25th at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
