She is predeceased by her husband Vernon Ray Jones, her sister Maria “Connie” Anderson, and her two brothers Horst and Gunter Korn.
Margarita loved knitting, crochet, embroidering, painting, reading books, cooking, shopping, plants, birds, swimming, and spending time at the beach.
She was born in Kobe, Japan on December 14, 1933 to Gracella Lopez -Korn and Franz Korn. Then moved to Berlin, Germany where she spent most of her childhood until she met a fine, young military man who was stationed in Germany. They were married and had a son, Ricardo. She later moved to the United States with her husband and son and got her citizenship. A few years later, her other son, Marvin, was born. She had been a resident of Hampton for almost 60 years.
She received a degree in Business Management and received many awards for her experience in the retail business. Her first job was at a jewelry store in Germany where she learned the fine attributes of all jewels. This is where her obsession of jewelry began.
Margarita was a patron of Immaculate Conception Church of Hampton, VA, where she would have her knitting groups. She was a member at the YMCA where she would swim.
She is survived by her sons: Ricardo Vernon Jones (Vickie Jones) of Hampton, VA and Marvin Lee Jones (Kim Jones) of Newport News, VA; granddaughters: Maria Williams (Wayne Williams) of Yorktown, VA and Leigh Anne Joerger (Todd Joerger) of Williamsburg, VA; her great-grandchildren: Jessica Holt of Leland, NC, Ciarra Self of Conway, SC, Christopher Williams of Yorktown, VA and Harrison and Norah Joerger of Williamsburg, VA; and her great-great-grandchildren: Aleeah, Olivia, Hazel and Charlotte.
