Marguerite Evelyn Bailey

Marguerite Evelyn Bailey, 108, died November 30, 2016. She was born in Benjamin, Texas in 1908, to the late Ella Mae (Hyatt) and Clint Slemp Bailey. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Hyatt R. Bailey of Jackson, OH; sister, Mary B. Sinclair of Yorktown, VA; sister-in-law, Margaret S. Bailey of Bowling Green, KY; and brother, Clinton Bailey of Leesburg, VA.

She is survived by nephews, William S. Bailey (Yao) of Roosevelt Island, NY, and John H. Bailey (Hanna) of Rochester, NY; niece, Louise B. Buntzman (Dr. Gabriel) of Bowling Green, KY; 9 grandnieces and nephews; and 13 great-grandnieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Debbie and Tom Taylor and Joan and Lewis Edwards for the many kindnesses and care they have given over the years. Also, our thanks to church members who have helped.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 pm, Monday, December 5, 2016 at Walnut Hills Baptist Church, 1014 Jamestown Road, in Williamsburg. A celebration of Marguerite’s life will immediately follow at 1:00pm at the church.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at the family cemetery (Hyatt) on Curt Russell Road, in Jonesville, Virginia.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Walnut Hills Baptist Church, the Williamsburg Faith in Action, or to a charity of your choice.
