

Mom was always witty, comforting, feisty, determined. She had a big heart. She wanted to lend a hand whenever she thought someone needed it.
Preceded in death by her husband, Dees, in October 1993. They were together 44 years.
Mom enjoyed being outdoors, looking at the birds and feeding the squirrels. Over the years mom had many squirrels that would “knock on the side door” to let her know they wanted peanuts.
Sunsets were especially appreciated by mom, all the colors in the sky as the sun reflected through the clouds.
Las Vegas, beginning in the early 1970’s, became a favorite vacation spot for mom and dad. They enjoyed many trips together to get away and enjoy a little of the Las Vegas life together. Many cruises and overseas trips were also enjoyed together.
Over the years mom became quite the artist having painted many paintings.
Mom was a lifetime member of Hampton Baptist Church. She loved singing with the Victory Singers choir for many years. Singing always brought her a lot of pleasure.
Mom also found the daughter she never had in her daughter-in-law, Carrie.
We love you so much mom and will miss you a lot. But what makes both of us feel better is knowing you are not hurting or confused by dementia any longer.
You are free to be yourself now. Get back together with dad as well as family and old friends.
