Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her husband of 40+ years, Leonard St. Hilaire; daughter, Lynn Sines; brother, Robert Phillips; and parents, Chester and Virginia Phillips. She is survived by her granddaughter, Abigail Sines of Ireland; grandson, Aaron Sines of Maryland; sisters, Jean L. Moore and Ruby P. Bass; and brothers, Ronnie and Rodney Phillips, all of Newport News.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, October 25, at Parklawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Norfolk Kidney Transplant Center, Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, 600 Gresham Drive, Norfolk, VA 23507.
