Nancy Elliott Forrest

Nancy Forrest, beloved wife, mother and friend, passed away after a brief illness on April 4, 2025 at the age of 87 in Hampton, Va. She was born on May 17, 1937 in Hampton and lived a life filled with family and friends who experienced her gift of hospitality.

Nancy was a devoted wife and mother. She married her high school sweetheart, Eddie, a fellow Crabber at Hampton High School. They were married for 62 years until Eddie's death in 2019. Nancy was known for her love of family and her pride in homemaking. She took excellent care of her husband, Eddie, and two sons, Cary and Jay. Nancy was very close to her sister Jackie and they both took care of their parents, Harry and Rebecca, during their later years.

Nancy was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church, the Hampton Women’s Club, numerous bridge groups, and other community organizations. Nancy dedicated her time and energies to people in her church and community. Her efforts positively impacted the lives of many individuals in the surrounding area. In addition, she loved traveling to South Carolina to support her grandchildren in their many activities. Her laughter and warmth will be deeply missed.

Nancy is survived by her sons, Cary Elliott Forrest (Sandie) of Newport News, VA, Jay Edward Forrest (Jennifer) of Lake Wylie, SC, and four wonderful grandchildren, Rebecca, Spencer, Casey and Ella. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Eddie, her parents, Rebecca and Harry Elliott, her sister Jackie Wilson, and her brother Joe Elliott.

A memorial service will be held on May 3, 2025, at Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel at 1 pm. Inurnment will be private.
