Nancy Encarnacion McDonald, age 57, of Hampton, Virginia, passed away on February 17, 2015 at home surrounded by family. She was the daughter of Jose Antonio Encarnacion (deceased) and Candida Diaz Quiñonez, and was born in Manhattan (Spanish Harlem), New York on November 25, 1957 and grew up in Bronx, New York.
Nancy worked in the Hampton Public School System for 21 years and 5 months as a Teacher’s Assistant where she had countless friends who were like family before she retired July 1st, 2014. Nancy had a passion for working with children of all ages.
Nancy was a dedicated wife, mother and friend. She enjoyed crocheting, watching the Amazing Race and traveling with her family.
Members of her family include her loving husband of 33 years, Gerald M. McDonald; daughters, Gabrielle Pearman and husband Joshua, and Cara McDonald; cherished grandson, Corey McDonald; eight brothers and sisters, Carlos (deceased), Olga, Petra, Edwin, Miriam, Yvonne, Jose and Milagros; in-laws, Phillip and Barbara McDonald; loving best friend sister, Lorraine (Joy) Gardner; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will be gathering and receiving friends on Tuesday evening, February 24, 2015 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. Following the visitation, a service celebrating Nancy’s life will be held at 6:00 PM.
She will be Deeply Missed by All.
