Nancy Jennelle Stephens

Nancy Alice Jennelle Stephens, 86, born in Giles County, Va., on August 1, 1930, departed this life Friday, January 27, 2017. She served her country as a registered nurse for more than 35 years at Langley Air Force Base Hospital, retiring from the United States Civil Service in 1989. She was the daughter of the late James Leverette Jennelle and India Jane Munsey Jennelle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Lee Stephens, her parents, and one brother, Leverette Hale Jennelle.

She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia Stephens Lindstrom and husband, John, of Quinton, Va., Debra Alice Stephens and husband, Rusty Maddox, of Richmond, Va., Karen Stephens Zorumski and husband, Barry, of Yorktown, Va.; seven grandchildren, Erik Stephens Lindstrom (Kathleen), Anna Jennelle Lindstrom, Elizabeth Jane Maddox, James Benton Maddox, Alan Lee Zorumski, Jessica Alice Zorumski, and Matthew Robert Zorumski; three great-grandchildren, Erik Stephens Lindstrom, Jr., Sailor Mauro Lindstrom, and Hunter Philip Lindstrom.

The family will receive friends at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home Tuesday, January 31, 2017, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park in Hampton.
