Patsy Baxley Byrd Hayden

Patsy Baxley Byrd Hayden, 78, of Newport News, Virginia, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2013, peacefully in her sleep at the Gardens of Warwick Forest. Patsy worked as a chef at the Ft. Monroe Officer's Club for many years. She loved gardening and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Patsy is survived by her children, Thomas Byrd and wife Denise, Debra Cheek and husband Marshall, Wanda Marinke and husband John, Luther Byrd, Sue Tellinger and husband Mike, and Pattie Gaddy and husband Jeff; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Faye Simpson, Ruth Klingenschmidt, Becky Stricklin, and Vicky Jobe; and brother, Jimmy Baxley.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Patsy's life will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, March 22, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
