Penny Peed

Born to Roger Peed and Boude Hartelius in Washington D.C., she grew up in Virginia where she graduated from Hampton High School, and even did some modeling in her spare time. Penny then traveled the country, and found herself all the way in Australia where she had her son, Paul Masterson, and eventually returned to the city she grew up in. Penny practiced massage therapy in Virginia for over 32 years, becoming one of the longest practicing massage therapists in the state.

Penny was always busy, whether it was working full-time to provide for her family, to becoming a caregiver to her elderly mother Boude, who passed away in 2022. She was an avid lover of animals and nature. She enjoyed crafting, birdwatching, reading a good book, or sharing her wealth of knowledge on health and nutrition.

She is survived by her son, Paul Masterson, and his wife, Karly Masterson. Penny also has several cousins located across the country, to whom she enjoyed staying in contact with over the years.

Her funeral will be held on March 1, 2024 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, and services will begin at 10:00 AM. Donations in her name can be made to the American Cancer Society.
