A native of Japan, Reiko met her husband while he was stationed there and moved to the United States to begin life together with their two children. She worked with Aafes in the beginning of her career and ended up retiring with the Commissary after 20 years of dedicated service. After retiring she enjoyed going to the gym for her yoga time and loved being around her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Reiko enjoyed cooking and had a contagious laugh that would make you laugh too. She had a heart of gold and showed love and compassion in so many different ways. She will greatly be missed by her many friends and family.
Reiko is survived by her daughter, Lisa Ann; grandsons, Alex (Brittany), Nicholas,Bradley; and great granddaughter Leila and Rilynn. She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Hughey and her son Michael Scott.
A celebration of life will be held at Parklawn Memorial Park at 1:00 PM, Saturday, October 26, 2024, flowers can be sent to 2551 N. Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA 23669. The family would like you to join them for light refreshments after services at the Moose Lodge 2307 60th St., Hampton, Virginia 23661.
