

His children were blessed to be raised by a father and mother who deeply loved one another and cherished their children.
He was born on April 14, 1925 in Danville, Virginia and moved to Phoebus in his teens. He served in the Navy aboard the USS Dixie during World War II. After leaving the Navy, he was employed by Old Point National Bank in Phoebus. He then became a civil service employee at Ft. Eustis and Ft. Monroe for 40 years.
Preceding him in rest is his wife of 64 years, and his great grandson, Aiden Willis. He is survived by his children, Brenda Bailey (Bob) and Randy Willis; four grandchildren, Rob Bailey (Shawn), Ashton Willis (Crystal Montoya), April Waltrip (Brandon), Tyler Willis (Ashley); five great-grandchildren, Kendall Willis, Hannah Bailey, Ethan Bailey, Silas Waltrip, and Helen Waltrip; sister, Betty Blythe; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Friday, February 16, 2018 in Parklawn Memorial Park at 11:00 AM.
