Ronald Linwood Hutcherson

Ronald Linwood Hutcherson,"Ronnie", 67, of Hampton passed away December 19th in his home, surrounded by friends and caregivers. Born January 31, 1944 in Jacksonville, Florida, Ronnie lived in Straightstone and Lynchburg, Virginia before settling in Hampton in 1962. After graduating Hampton High School in 1965, Ronnie had a long career in the shipyard, railroad industries and as a security officer. He was known for a wide range of talents, most outstanding being his bluegrass and old country music ability and passion.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis & Lois Hutcherson. He is survived by a brother, Larry Hutcherson of Homestead, Florida; daughter, Allie Hutcherson of Asheville, NC; aunts, Doris Mayes of Danville, Treva Hutcherson of Altvista, and Ruby Robinson Wade of Georgia. He is also survived by nephews, Jeremy Hutcherson of Wilmington, NC, Jonthan Hutcherson of San Franscisco, California, and Joshua Hutcherson of Sacramento, California; and numerous cousins.

The family would like to thank all the special friends and caregivers of the "A Team", especially the Nugent family for their love, support and generosity to Ronnie during his illness.

A memorial service celebrating the life of "Ronnie" Ronald Linwood Hutcherson will be held at Freedon Life Church in Hampton on Friday, December 23rd at 6:00 p.m., with a reception following in the church hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in the name of Ronald L. Hutcherson.
