Ruben Linsey Davis

Ruben Linsey Davis, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and brother-in-law passed away May 16, 2018. Ruben served in the Air Force for twenty years, earned a master’s degree in Education and Administration and retired from Indian River High School, Chesapeake, Virginia, after twenty-two years as an Air Force Junior ROTC Instructor. He was an active member of Chestnut Memorial United Methodist Church in Newport News, Virginia. Ruben was preceded in death by his son, Donald William Davis, an Army veteran. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Pearl; his daughter, Deborah; his son-in-law, William Scouten, Jr.; his granddaughters, Lindsay and Sydney; and a beloved sister-in-law, Earlene Perry. He will forever be known as the most compassionate, generous, and loving man not only to his family, but to everyone that came into contact with him. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to CMMC food pantry. The family will receive friends 2:00 to 4:00 pm, Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home and Memorial Park. A celebration of Ruben’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, May 21 at Chestnut Memorial United Methodist Church, 1024 Harpersville Road, Newport News, Virginia 23601.
