Ruben Rosario-Hernandez

It is with the deepest sorrow that we bid farewell to our beloved husband and father, Ruben Rosario-Hernandez. He went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, just two months after his seventieth birthday. Ruben was born on September 5, 1943, in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, to Sixto Rosario and Eusebia Hernandez. He met his future wife, Carmen Lourdes Rodriguez, while at the University of Puerto Rico, and they married in 1964. He went on to earn his MBA and build a distinguished career in the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, where he retired after thirty years of service. In the days of his strength, Ruben served with great dedication as first elder of the Hampton Roads Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

Ruben was survived by his loving wife of forty-nine years, Carmen Lourdes Rosario; his three children, Rebecca Howard, Ruben Rosario-Rodriguez, and Ruth Rosario; and his beloved grandchildren, Steven, Michael, Adara, Isabella, and Raphael.

Funeral Services will be held at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home at 2551 N. Armistead Avenue, Hampton, VA 23666. The viewing is scheduled for Saturday, November 9, 2013, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A chapel service is scheduled for Sunday, November 10, 2013, at 2:00 pm. Burial will be right after the service at Parklawn Memorial Park.
