

Shirley Mae Parker, 71, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2017. She was born in Yorktown, Virginia and was a resident of Williamsburg for 50 years. She graduated from James Weldon Johnson High School in Yorktown. Shirley was both a customer service and health and beauty associate with Farm Fresh and retired after 10 years of service. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church for over 50 years.
She was preceded in rest by her husband of 45 years, Carvin Parker, Sr., her parents, and several brothers and a sister. She is survived by her sons, Carvin Parker, Jr. and Cory Parker; daughter, Sherry Parker; grandchildren, Caiden, Mila, Christian, Haylee, Elijah, Karrena, Marquis and Kavon Parker, and Brittany Agnew; great-granddaughter, Kamiera Parker; sister, Virginia Lee Atkins; daughter-in-law, Latonya Parker; and best friend, Theresa Daniels.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, April 5, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Wilbur Johnson. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
