She was of the Baptist faith and had been a member of Hampton Rhoads Baptist Church. Her focus was on caring for her family, including her mother and sisters. Hobbies and interests included all types of arts and crafts such as drawing, painting and hand work.
Susan is preceded in death by her son, Christopher Beverly; parents, Joseph A. and Frances A. Barry; and sister, Renee Jenkins. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Thomas A. Beverly; children, Sarah E. Beverly and Matthew T. Beverly; sister Joan Christian; and extended family members including cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Susan's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 13, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
