Thomas Otis Reese Sr.

Thomas was a gifted songwriter and musician who sang and played with local bands in the 1940's. He dedicated his life to southern gospel music from the 1950's until the 1980's and sang with The Dominionaires, The Virginians, and The Swordsmen.

Thomas is survived by his son, Thomas O. Reese, Jr. and wife, Sallie; daughter, Linda R. Evans and husband, Bob; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his brother, Robert E. Reese; and sisters, Mabel Mullen and Alice Thomas. Mr. Reese was preceded in death by his brother, John Reese.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 17, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Thomas' life will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 18, at the funeral home, officiated by Reverend Robert E. Reese. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity in memory of Mr. Reese.
