He was born on March 17, 1932 in Canton, Ohio to Sylvester and Hilda West. Victor graduated from Canton South High School and served in the United States Army for three years. He went on to graduate from Ohio State University as an Electrical Engineer. Upon graduation, he received a job offer at Newport News Shipbuilding and made the move to Virginia. He retired in 1994 after 30 years of Federal Service, from the Naval Undersea Warfare Center as a Supervisory Electronics Engineer.
Victor married the love of his life on January 31, 1959 at Our Lady of Peace Church in Canton, OH. After moving to Virginia they made York County their home. Victor enjoyed dancing with his wife. He supported all of his children’s and grandchildren’s interests; from football to wrestling, piano recitals to band and majorette competitions. He was a kind soul who valued and loved his family dearly. There wasn’t anything Victor couldn’t do or fix.
