

She was a member of Northampton Church of Christ and its Sunday school program. She was also belonged to the Wythe Homemakers Club. At the age of 60, she returned to academia and received her high school diploma. In the 1980’s she worked as a sales associate at J. C. Penney.
Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, Russell B. Henson, parents, and two brothers. She is survived by her daughters, Doris E. Sauls and Brenda M. Britt; grandchildren, Jamie Sauls, Misty Sauls, Amanda Berry; great-grandchildren, Morgan Sauls, Brittany Ellis, and Mariah Gray; sister, Helen Beatrice Whiteside; brother, David Leonard Humphries; and many other extended family members.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Monday, January 21, 2013 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Virginia's life will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, January 22 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
