Virginia Lovell entered into eternal rest at home on August 30, 2015 at the age of 81. Although born in Elk Creek, VA, she lived and raised her children in Newport News, VA. She dedicated her life to her family and helping others in need.
Virginia was born January 22, 1934 in Elk Creek, VA to Hobart Hawkins and Ida (Crigger) Hawkins Hale. Preceded in death are her parents; two sisters; one brother; and one son, Earnest Lovell.
Virginia leaves her six children, Brenda (Jim) Villa of Lathrop, CA, Dale Lovell of Newport News, Douglas Lovell of Columbus, OH, Linda (Bob) Peters of New Orleans, LA, Ralph (Nancy) Lovell of Manassas, VA, and Dianne Lovell of Newport News; her grandchildren, Bryan Lovell, Virginia Lovell, Amanda Miehm, Ryan and Megan Peters, Christie Gregory, Gerald Paul and Charlie Lovell, Michael and David Villa; seven great-grandchildren to cherish her memories; and brother, Daryl Hawkins of Greenville, SC.
The family will receive friends 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home with a celebration of life service for Virginia to begin at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will be held 3:00 pm, Wednesday, September 9 at Forest Methodist Church Community Cemetery in Elk Creek, Virginia.
