Virginia Mae McCrary, 81 of Newport News went to be with Lord on Monday, March 12, 2018. A native of Mount Airy, North Carolina, she worked for Leggetts as a sales associate and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Sebron and Maggie Sechriest, sister, Ernestine Richards, and granddaughter, Kristie McCrary. She leaves behind her husband of 63 years, Parlie McCrary; two sons, Greg McCrary, and Randy McCrary and his wife Sandra; daughter, Kelly Bowman and her husband Ronnie; grandchildren, Joshua Gaulding, Justin McCrary, Matthew Payne, and Jarad Payne; sister, Dot Combs and her husband Jack; and brother, Wayne Sechriest and his wife Brenda.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 16, 2018 from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Virginia's life will follow at 2:30 pm at the funeral home, with Pastor Joe Hunt officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters, www.chkd.org/support-us/donate.
