William Edward Allen

Born on July 8, 1935 he was raised in Erwin, Tennessee and moved to Virginia in 1963 to make a better life for himself and his family. William had a career as a painter for the Newport News Shipyard where he retired after 43 years.

He was a dedicated and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his family, fishing, camping, Chevrolet vehicles, Nascar and the flea market.

William leaves behind the best memories of his life and love to his survivors daughters, Tammy Wright (James), Brigitte Layne (William); sons, Keith Allen (Robin), Mark Allen (Patti); grandchildren Heaven Allen, Ashley Allen, Mark Allen Jr., Anna Wright, Austin Wright, Preston Layne; step-grandchildren, Todd Soesbee, Trey Harmon, Faith Harmon, Kristin Wright ,Melonie Wright, Brandon Wright; great grandchild, Heyman Boseman and other loving family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday October 4, 2021 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home 2551 N. Armistead Ave Hampton, VA 23666.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday October 5, 2021 in the funeral homes chapel.

Entombment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
