William served in the Army National Guard. He retired April of 2006 after thirty-two years from the Newport News Shipbuilding. He was a member of First Friends Church in Hampton.
William was preceded in rest by his first wife of thirty-nine years, Judy A. Frye; parents, and two brothers. He is survived by his wife of five years, Brenda Frye; son, Jody Frye (Tammy) and their children, Kaylee and Emily; two daughters, Karen White (Chris) and Hope McKendree (Andy); six grandchildren from his marriage with Brenda, Grace, Christopher, Ravynn, Kaylee, Ashlyn, Blake; three sisters, Mary Jo Waterton (Joey), Carol Clements (Bruce), and Shirley Frye.
The family will receive friends 6:30 to 7:30 pm, Friday, August 18, 2017 at First Friends Church in Hampton followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 7:30 pm in the church. Interment will be private in Parklawn Memorial Park.
