William Edward Knode

He is survived by his brother Lewis (Renee) and sister Judy (Olaf) Howard. Ned is also survived by his wife Virginia, daughter Deborah DeBiasi, and son Ed.

Ned achieved the rank of E-9 CMSGT in the US Air Force and retired after 28 ½ years. His service in Korea and Vietnam earned him a Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and a Distinguished Airman Award. Ned also spent several years at NADEP as a Civil Service employee before retiring in 1994. He was a Masonic Lodge member, enjoyed golf, watching sports, fishing, and helping the neighbors with various projects.

Ned was a devoted and loving husband, father and good friend to many. His kindness and smile will be missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 from 5 to 6 pm at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home; funeral service will follow at 6 pm. Interment will be private.
