William Delano Tate

William Delano Tate, 72, passed away on Friday, March 26, 2010. He was born in Matoka, WV and a resident of Newport News for 40 years. Mr. Tate was a member of Faith Church of God and the Loyal Order of the Moose Newport News Lodge #1119 since May 22, 1981.

Preceding him in rest was his parents, William and Hattie Tate; and brothers, John, Con, and Tim Tate. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Julia Ann Tate; daughter, Lynn Oss and husband, William; stepdaughters, Connie and Pamela; grandchildren, Richard and wife, Katie, and Beth (Jason); step-grandchildren, Brenda, Michelle, Buddy, Ryan, Patrick, Johnny, Kelly, William, and Brandon; great-grandchild, Emily; numerous step-great-grandchildren; and brother, Jim Tate and wife, Juanita.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 from 6:30-8:00 PM at the Funeral Home. A celebration of William's life will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 11 AM at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home with Pastor Don Back officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
