William served in the United States Army for 22 years. He joined in 1992 and retired in 2014 as a 1st Sergeant, affectionately still being referred to as Top by those who served with him. It was a name he answered to proudly. He never complained about his many deployments that took him far from home in dangerous and harsh conditions, which included Somalia, two tours in Korea, and two tours in Afghanistan. While in Afghanistan, William was the recipient of two Bronze Star Medals. It was a job he was most proud to have and considered it an honor to be able to serve among what he believed to be the greatest men and women he had ever met.
Billy was a was a hard worker that was looked up to and respected by many. He was a loving father and an amazing person that will be missed by all. He was “good people”.
