Yoshiko Oya Hamanishi Burns, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, May 27, 2013 at Riverside Regional Medical Center. She was born in Japan and was a resident of Yorktown for 42 years.
She is survived by her son, Mikeal F. Burns, Sr. and his wife, Kristie Burns; six grandchildren, Janet Slater, Robert McGrath, Daniel McGrath, Mikeal F. Burns, Jr., Nigel L. Burns, and Timothy Bruff; and five great-grandchildren, Tyler Slater, Eireann Jones, Akira Burns, Gareth Jones, and Lynnette Jones.
A celebration of Yoshiko's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 1, at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home with Pastor Prescott Belt officiating. Interment will follow at Hampton-Veterans Memorial Gardens.
